Worse Then That
After talking with Aaron about my mail problem it was realized that kids taking my mail was in fact not the worst, it could have been stolen by someone much more sinister...that now has checks with my banking information and signature, as well as account information of some credit cards.

scary thought. one good reason I pay all my bill though my online banking now. I would recommend at the very least, using Ever-Mark pens when writing checks. I have just started using them for my checks as well. Hope your mail turns up.
Oh man, doesn't that just infuriate you? Some heads need to be knocked. If only the culprit(s) could be identified. When I had my computer in the living room, one day three teenage girls were walking by on the sidewalk, and I actually witnessed one of them open my mailbox and look inside! I yelled at her out the window and she just kept walking, looking at me like I was crazy. I couldn't go outside because I wasn't dressed yet. So now I never put mail in my box until just before the mailman comes, and always try and retrieve my mail shortly after he comes. I have the mail held when we go on trips (first time they didn't bother to though, so last time, we had it stopped a few days before we left and sure enough, it kept coming, so we had to inform the mailman and the post office again that it was supposed to be on hold)and the second try worked for that time. I suppose we will have to do that each time we travel. I also take mail directly to the post office if I can't be home to watch for the mailman if the mail is important. I wonder if locking mailboxes will become a necessity eventually.
ohgosh! keep us posted.. that is scary. my friend has had her identity stolen.. its not fun... hang in there.
Oh no! I hope that works out okay. :(
